Pros and cons of Pair It! - Food and Wine Pairings app for iPhone and iPad

Pair It! - Food and Wine Pairings app good for

This app combines a huge selection of wines with an even huger (!) selection of foods to provide an expansive collection of wine pairings! I especially like the phonetic spelling for the wines (maybe we can get this for the hard-to-pronounce foods too?), and I found "Chef Bruces Picks" are good starting place.
Great app if you love food and wine! its easy to use, fast, and fun to explore new wine and food combinations. The Swirl feature is my favorite :) it lets you swirl your phone to get a new pairing suggestion every time. Cheers!
Im not one to get caught up with brands and reviews, so I dont want to waste my time looking up some review for the exact wine Im looking at at the store. I just want to have a general idea of what that varietal or region tastes like, then bring home something new and enjoy it over a home-cooked meal. And for that, this is nearly perfect. Hopefully it stays that way and never, ever, EVER adds a Twitter function.
Intuitive design and packed with information, this is the best wine/food app on the market and Ive tried them all. Get ready to learn. Then get the Wine Enthusiast app and head into the marketplace.
This app is encyclopedic in the information it offers, sometimes overwhelmingly so - the only reason I didnt give it five stars is because the sheer number of pairing suggestions per food item can make it hard to make a decision. That said, most of the suggestions, no matter how many there are, make sense. My favorite parts of this app are the "Swirl" function, which gives a random pairing suggestion - its fun and educational - and the chefs pairing suggestions, which are more specific. One of the best wine apps Ive found in the App Store. Highly recommended.
I only wish youd make a version for the iPad ... And that some of the recipes were available ...

Some bad moments

What a waste of money. Tells you some recipe ideas but whenever you search for a recipe it comes back no recipes found. So basically you get a list of wines and what to pair with it. You can find this free. Save your money and buy a bottle of wine instead.
Recipes are oddly specific, wine suggestions are confusing and extremely broad. Dont buy it.
So far Im 0/6 on recipes when I click the "Find Recipes" tab. Tried fish, beef, chicken, salads and many more with not a single "recipe" found. Otherwise a decent app when it comes to understanding pairings. It would be nice I can get a recipe out of the pairings.
There are titles or suggestions of recipes, but very little recipes themselves. The suggestions are also too gourmet - example wild boar showed up several times in suggestions. Ive been searching for Chicken with Wild Mushrooms cooked with Pinot Noir with no luck when I look. What good is listing recipe suggestions if the are not easily found? The app developers need to take a look at Steve Jobs thinking - make it simple!! Please keep swirl result so it shows up when you leave and then return to swirl page. I dont want to have to go through all the swirling again to get to where I left off. A list of all possible swirl results would also be nice if one didnt want to swirl.
I found the prior version useful but since installing the last update on Saturday it will not open! Fix this!!
I used this app for my work at a restaurant and was hoping the new version would be even better but it turns out the app doesnt even work. Hope it gets fixed soon :/
